Time for history

The history of Randers can with certainty be traced back to the 1000s, and this is clearly sensed in the narrow medieval streets of the town. The history of the town and its surroundings offers lots of drama and romance. For instance when Frederic  IV eloped with the beautiful noblewoman Anna Sophie Rewentlow from Clausholm Castle.

Or when the resistance group from Hvidsten Inn collected arms and English paratroopers during the 2nd World War. Or when the town was the centre of one of the largest riots in the Denmark’s history when Niels Ebbesen beat the bald count in 1340.
